Gameplay even shows limited flight capabilities for mechs. This goes hand-in-hand with speed of course, and dodging attacks will be just as critical as closing distances for strikes. Early gameplay has so far showcased just how vast this arsenal may be, with missiles, machine guns, close-range ordinance, and a spectrum of energy weapons all seemingly choices for combat engagements. It’s difficult to say how much will change from the older games of the series in this entry, but what we’ve seen so far looks to promise a return to form aligned with polished pacing, speed, and combat.Īrmored Core is known for high-octane fights that rely on a mixture of speed and accuracy with an arsenal of ranged and melee weaponry. Still, it did a good job setting up the hype and atmosphere when the “Armored Core VI” title burned to life on-screen. though included fewer scenes that we’re likely to actually see in the game at launch. So far, we have two trailers for Fires of Rubicon available.įirst is the reveal trailer we saw last year at The Game Awards, which gave many their first real look into this long-running franchise. From here, you’ll be fighting through the other factions to obtain the mysterious substance. Corporations, rebels and others scramble, and players will drop into the chaos as an independent mercenary, charmingly named Augmented Human C4-621. Something went wrong during its early discovery though, and instead, the substance ignited the planet and surrounding star system in in a cosmic firestorm, the catastrophe of flames creating a Burning Star System.Īlmost fifty years later, the same substance resurfaces on Rubicon 3, now a quarantined planet. The substance holds the potential to accelerate humankind’s technological advancement, acting as a powerful energy source. ![]() Humanity discovers a mysterious new substance on a distant planet, Rubicon 3. In this sense, fans shouldn’t expect too great of a tonal departure from other games they might be more familiar with.Īs for Armored Core 6’s specific story, we don’t have all the details, but we do know a fair bit about the premise. While more grounded than the fantasy entries of FromSoftware’s catalogue, the Armored Core series definitely still aligns with the thematics of a decaying, dystopian world where little is valued and the small joys in life are all the more cherished. Throughout the games, you’ll play as mercenaries piloting huge mechs, carrying out dirty work for various different corporate entities through shady contracts to scratch out a living. Megacorporations run rampant, with humanity constantly in conflict over limited resources and a nihilistic sense of life lacking value. The Armored Core series takes place in a dystopian sci-fi future. Previous titles are more difficult to access these days, especially the earliest entries in the series, but thanks to what we know so far about the story of Armored Core 6, it should make for a great jumping-on point for new fans. Publisher Bandai Namco have confirmed on their official page for Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon that the title will be available to play on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Given the relatively strong calibre of recent titles, including Elden Ring, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Dark Souls 3, and the time and care dedicated to each, we can likely expect at least a well-rounded and polished experience from the Studio come August.Īrmored Core 6 will likely be the most accessible entry in the series to date. However, the game has been in the works for a while now, with Hidetaka Miyazaki mentioning the game’s entry into early development all the way back in 2016. ![]() This is a lot earlier than many were speculating, especially given the ongoing development of Elden Ring DLC. The Armored Core 6 release date is set for August 25, 2023. ![]() While we wait for the game’s full release though, be sure to keep up to date with everything happening in From Soft’s other current major title, Elden Ring, including the new balances and changes in the latest Elden Ring patch notes. Since then, we’ve learnt a little more about the game and what to expect from the newest entry into the series in about a decade. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, was announced as the Soulsborne studio’s next big project outside of the Elden Ring DLC back in December at The Game Awards, to much excitement. Details about the Armored Core 6 release date, story and more are bound to be something that many FromSoftware fans are on the lookout for at the moment.

![]() We found seats behind a row of monks poring over scriptures. A couple of tourists were seated on a low bench, some of them turning prayer beads in their hands, other transfixed by the sounds and sights of a monastery prayer room. From inside came the clang of cymbals and the thud of drums, accompanied by the guttural chanting of Buddhist scriptures. The stairs brought us to a red door with minute colorful patterns on its frame. The words took me to some place higher-if only for the duration of the seconds it took me to read them. Learning to forgive is much more useful than merely picking up a stone and throwing it at the object of one’s anger, the more so when the provocation is extreme for it is under the greatest adversity that there exists the greatest potential for doing good, both for oneself and others. It would be much more constructive if people tried to understand their supposed enemies. Of forgiveness, a word that he has spent a lifetime trying to prove is more than a mere ideal, he had said: On the wall along the stairs were plaques inscribed with the aphorisms of one of the world’s happiest man, the Dalai Lama. We then climbed the stairs to the main prayer room. I was hooked more to the copper-blue of a verditer flycatcher, which made sorties from its perch on an electric wire to grab insects. It didn’t inspire that kind of feeling in me, but like any quiet place set in the midst of unspoiled natural beauty, it did remind me of the need to escape more often from the samsara of concrete structures. The website of the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery extols Namo Buddha as a place that “inspires one’s faith renunciation and weariness with samsara naturally arise.” The monastery and its surroundings were like a buffer zone against the distractions of the world-at least the visual ones. ![]() It became clear quickly why the lama had gone on a retreat. My companion and I decided to look around. When I inquired about the lama, however, I learned that he had been in retreat for two years already and would be for another two. I had heard from friends that a lama I had known was now living in the monastery. (Opener) Prayer flags strewn at the monastery premise. The monastery and its surroundings serve as a buffer zone against the distractions of the world-at least the visual ones. So to allay their fears, pilgrims began chanting “Namo Buddhaya,” a mantra meaning “I take refuge in the Buddha,” while traveling through the forest. Though this tale of compassion inspired people to travel here for pilgrimage, they could not shake off their fears of wild animals inhabiting the dense forest. It was in Namo Buddha, according of legend, that a young prince had been so moved by the sight of a hungry tigress, about to devour her own famished cubs, that he fed them his own flesh and eventually gave himself to the tigress. That was our first glimpse of the monastery at Namo Buddha. And that was why I felt like being in a classic painting about a pilgrimage. There was a certain amount of romanticism, I felt, in meeting monks on your way to a monastery mentioned in holy texts. In the background to this coming together of tonsured monks in burgundy robes and hikers in quick-dry T-shirts was a large monastery of golden roofs and curly eaves perched on a hill. My companion and I ran into two Buddhist monks, stopped for a brief chat, and parted ways we towards a monastery and the monks on their way to the febrile city. The meeting would have made for a wonderful painting. ![]() I've a few questions for Tianqi, this time regarding AI, one of my favourite aspects of robotics.
